Just humble bounty hunters, ma'am.

Part One of "BEST DERP AWARDS" can be found here: neoyi.deviantart.com/journal/T…

And now Part Two. As usual, SPOILERS!

BEST DERP AWARDS! (PART 2)

13. BEST TOY: Cyberverse Dreadwing (I am judging this based on the toys I personally own and only the ones I nabbed for this year)
Yes, the tinier Dreadwing. Voyager Dreadwing is amazing and intricately detailed, but I was far more impressed with his tiny counterpart because of his Cyberverse status. A lot of the smaller toys will often exclude details because of their size. Now the TFP Cyberverse line-up actually varies between being very, very complex in design and look (see also the Cyberverse Starscream), average "okay-looking-but-nothing-wow-or-anything" (example: Arcee) to awful (Wheeljack, why do you have a medieval shield for a torso?) Dreadwing is very much in the first category. They went to town with this one and I am legit impressed on how accurate it is to the series. Granted, about half the Cyberverse looks about as decent as this, but Dreadwing is just that mad impressive. They spared no grounds with this one; he looks fantastic and stands out from a lot of the other Cyberverse figures.

14. BADASS MANLY AWARD/BEST BLURR AWARD FOR VIOLENT CHARACTER(S) DEATH: Wheeljack throws an assload of bombs at a group of Insecticons

YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

15. THE BEST HEAVY METAL ALBUM COVER EVER: Dreadwing on a cliff (with diamonds) as he text messages Megatron to beam him up

Photobucket

If not a Heavy Metal album, then it'd look sweet painted on the side of someone's van. He gets really good mileage on that cliff.

16. FACE THAT REDUCED THIS CYNICAL BITCH INTO A GIGGLING SCHOOLGIRL:

Photobucket

Oh, Cliffjumper, where were you back in middle school when I would have taped your picture to my locker and stare endlessly at your eyes while the other students stared, pointed, and laughed?

17. THOSE TWO FABULOUS BITCHES: Starscream and Knock Out in "Regeneration"
Where the two get into a catfight over the Omega Keys, then complained about their nails after, and finally kissed after the keys squirts a map out. Then they make up with yogurt and a romantic comedy. Can we please have them interact more in Season Three? Pretty please? :D

18. THE MOST HILARIOUS SCENE EVER: The one Vehicon Megatron tossed to his doom
Unfortunately he doesn't have wings, so he falls to his doom. After a battle, we see the aftermaths of the poor guy as he crashes to his death in full view. Tragic and terrible for him? Yes. Funny as HELL? Oh GOD YES.

Runner-up is clearly THIS little gem from "Loose Cannons."

19. CRACK PAIRING I NEVER THOUGHT I'D LOVE: Wheeljack/Ratchet
When "Loose Cannon" aired, I ended up shipping Bulkhead/Wheeljack. For goodness sake, Bulky even tells Jackie he loves him. For people with Shipper Goggles, that is like the ultimate fuel.

Then "Triage" aired and made me see the light. Ratchet's curmudgeon stuffiness contrasted with Wheeljack's smooth and cocky attitude and boy howdy, do I love my opposite attracts. Ratchet finds him an irredeemable ruffian and is usually the first person to criticize him. The two are forced to work together to retrieve one of Project Iacon's many leftovers and while the episode was iffy on its delivery, they eventually respect one another. Also Ratchet ballerina twirls before he checks up on an injured Wheeljack. XD

Then "Darkest Hour" aired and OH MY GOD DID YOU SEE THE WAY RATCHET LOOKED AND SOUNDED WHEN WHEELJACK CAME TO SAVE THE DAY!? HE WAS SO HAPPY AND IM SQUEEING LIKE A MORON AHDKSAHDLKJJDSL. :D :D :D

20. THE MOST GODDAMN USEFUL SHIT EVER: The Transformers Prime "How To Draw" Book
I think I got damn lucky when I found this book. For the longest time, I never knew why Amazon priced a cheap kid's "How to draw" book so outrageously high on their listing (this is back then; it's currently - as of this writing - in stock). The thing came out like a year ago for a show that's only two years old. It hardly has the sold-out capacity of the Allspark Almanacs. Then I found out it was available as one of those Scholastic-Only order books elementary kids get (boy, did I loved the shit out of those catalogs when I was a child), so I guess that makes sense. I found a copy at my local comic book store for five books. Whoo, go me.

I'm not super keen on "How To Draw" books. When I want to learn how to draw a character, I just study a screencap or two (or sixteen) and go to town. "How To Draw" books are never really good; at least the ones for kids. At best, I guess they can teach you the basic structure to produce something resembling that character, but it's usually only effective for that one pose and doesn't have the necessary details I feel it needs. Then again, most of these books are geared towards little kids, so hey. Then again again, I never relied on "How to Draw" books even when I was a youngling. I prefer things the hard, complicated way and self-taught myself for the most part. Unfortunately Prime's incredibly detailed CGi makes it borderline impossible for me to draw sexy Starscream fanart because AHGKDHLKEJE SO MANY FUCKING MINOR THINGS TO ADD AND ALSO THE CONS ARE MOSTLY IN DARK LIT PLACES AND I CANT SEE BECAUSE IM NOT A CAT OR SOMETHING IM A STUPID HUMAN!

I don't know what witchcraft this book came from, but it is a GODSEND. Now do note it is not 100% accurate (there are numerous errors, though most are cosmetic and minor) and I don't recommend this as the be-all, end-all source on how to draw these guys. What it does is post a nice, simpler head-to-toe 2D image of most of the characters. Here's a couple of examples. On the whole, it gave me a general idea to help me get started. Afterwards, I added in my own artistic touch once the magic got rolling. Oh yeah, that smexy Smokescreen/Alpha Trion artwork is gonna be hot.

I needed this. It's a life saver. It's like getting goddamn magical powers. That drawing of Arcee I did? Second time I ever drew her and I wouldn't have finished it without this book. It's like the Holy Grail of TFP character art guidance until the inevitable supplementary material comes out.

On the amusing side, Nick Roche is the writer and artist of this book and that tickles my fancy.

Sorry, Knock Out fans, he's not in the book for some damn reason. *grumble grumble*

21. BEST MOMENT EVER: Starscream shakes his groove thang

AWWWWWW YEAH!

A lot of these were the goofier entries after the more serious Part 1, but the "Best Derp Awards: Second Annual" is done! Next, the Worst Derp Awards!" MWahahahahaha!

Ask Crescendolls on Tumblr: Ask those four losers (and their cats) whatever you want.

"Discovery" TVTropes Page: I actually didn't make this TVTropes page. Someone else did and that person has my eternal thanks. So I'm promoting it because, well, it's my fancomic. XD

Hopefully, if they make a Volume 2 for the TFP How to Draw book, Knock Out will be in it.
